The re-appraisal of early Seefeel has been long overdue. We're not entirely sure why this hasn't happened before, but to put things into context this is the first time Ch-Vox has been available on vinyl since it debuted in 1996, sidling up alongside the band's other outings dating back to 1994, all of which came about through involvement with Sheffield and global electronic music institution, Warp Records.Ch-Vox actually landed on Rephlex, the imprint founded by Warp regular Richard D James, AKA Aphex Twin, and Grant Wilson-Claridge. Taking us further into the chill-out rooms, Sunday morning comedowns and midweek meditative moods of UK rave, in many ways Ch-Vox is more complex in concept than its predecessor, Succour, helping establish an early framework for what we now know as drone.

Here's the new vinyl from the producers Maïs and Sin, brought to you by the label Antipod. Its' a two-track single : "Rat Race" which refers to the endless race of modern society, race against time, for money or progress.Side A, Junior Dread evokes therefore the necessity of global awareness and next generations's future, our kids'sfuture.On Bside, you'll find the trumpet version by Tribuman.“There are thousands and thousands of people out there leading lives of quiet, screaming desperation, where they work long, hard hours at jobs they hate to enable them to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't like.” Nigel Marsh.

They may have expanded their musical horizons in recent years, delivering albums packed with glossier productions, soulful songs and revivalist boogie gems, but it was with funk-fuelled, party-starting breakbeat workouts that they started their career. This seven inch single boasts two killer cuts from their 2005 debut album, Boogie Angst. A-side 'Money In The Bag (K&S Remix)' brilliantly joins the dots between cowbell-driven funk, squelchy 1980s electro and hip-hop, in the process delivering a timeless slab of dancefloor hedonism. 'C'mon People (7" Edit)' is more straightforward - but no less incendiary - slab of mid-noughties funk breaks goodness laden with ear-catching samples.
