Brand New Label from Switzerland. Tip-a-top present its first vinyle production Covid-19 special / Lockdown a delicious ska single "The compulsion to get out on the dance floor and move with the groove will reach fever-pitch from the moment the very first note on this new imprint is heard and felt. And, as you will prove shortly, your trouble will be doubled when you offer any form of passive resistance to this urge. Why wait for another remedy to beat that virus, when there is little else you can do but move and groove to Sir Jay & the Skatanauts, your musical injectors." G.F.créditsPerformers:R. Den Hague's Dazion (who previously released a 12" on MFM's Second Circle imprint), with a 2 tracker for Safe Trip..Label say:''URGENT: THE SAFE TRIP ORGANISATION HAS TAKEN TO THE WATER IN A BID TO SPREAD THEIR CODED MUSICAL MESSAGES FAR AND WIDE. THEY HAVE RECRUITED A YOING OPERATIVE KNOWN AS DAZION, A KEEN WINDSURFER, TO DEVELOP A METHOD OF BROADCASTING THEIR ADDICTIVE AND MIND-ALTERING MUSICAL MISSIVES WHEREVER THERE IS A SUITABLE BODY OF WATER.OUR OPERATIVES TRACKED DAZION TO A REMOTE SPOT ON THE DUTCH COAST, WHERE HE WAS SPOTTED TRIALLING THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY WITH HIS FAVOURED F2 DRAGON BOARD. AS HE RODE THE CHOPPY WAVES, WE WERE ABLE RECORD THE RHYTHMICAL ELECTRONIC MUSIC BROADCASTING FROM WITHIN THE BROAD. THIS MUSIC FEATURED THE KIND OF TRIBALISTIC, DELAY-LADEN DRUMS, SWELLING ELECTRONICS AND EXOTIC MELODIC REFRAINS THAT ARE KNOWN TO INSPIRE FRENZIED DANCING IN MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. WE HAVE CHRISTENED THE RECORDING DRAGON WAVE'.WE LATER TRACKED DAZION TO A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL UNIT ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF AMSTERDAM. THERE HE CONTINUED TO TINKER WITH THE TECHNOLOGY, TESTING IT OUT BY BROADCASTING ANOTHER MUSICAL COMPOSITION. THIS WAS MORE POIGNANT AND MELANCHOLIC IN TONE, UTILISING SPAACEY ELECTRONIC MELODIES, GENTLY BOBBING CHORDS, HEART-ACHING GUITAR FLOURISHES AND A TOUGH BUT BROKEN RHYTHM TRACK. THE RECORDING - CODE NAME VX LTD' - HAD A HUGE IMPACT ON US EMOTIONALLY AND EVEN REDUCED ONE OPERATIVE TO TEARS.''
ELECTRIC JALABAEl Hal The FeelingStrutElectric Jalaba comprises six accomplished musicians with an empathy that feels telepathic and a groove that immerses. In Arabic, the mother tongue of Moroccan-born singer and guimbri player Simo Lagnawi, a leading practitioner of Gnawa music in Britain, they call this indefinable quality, “El Hal” – “The feeling”. “It’s the feeling that comes when we’re playing and totally forgetting where we are,” says producer and bassist Olly Keen. “The feeling of being grabbed by the music and lost in the groove.”El Hal is the new third album from Electric Jalaba and their first release in five years. It’s a multi-faceted work that finds the band tighter than ever, deploying a vast cache of influences across nine tracks improvised and developed in their south London studio then deftly produced by Keen. Some tracks pay homage to the origins of Gnawa music, whose repertoire of Arabic-language praise songs contains remnants of West African dialects – Bambara from Mali, Fulani and Hausa from the Sahel region – that point to a centuries-old migration.
Italian talent Enzo Conoga launches his first single on WATAJ Recordings. Obscure disco infected of Latin jazz / funk in honor of the tropical side of the savannah and the felines that dominate it!
UK reggae artist Solo Banton is back with a bang, once again joining forces with Reality Shock producer Kris Kemist to bring you their 3rd studio album "Old Raggamuffin", following on from "Walk Like Rasta" 2010 & "Higher Levels" 2012. Over the last 7 years Solo Banton has continued to establish himself as one of the UK's favourite Reggae artists, performing all over the globe & hosting the biggest reggae stage in the UK, Lions Den at Boomtown. Solo has been so busy infact that he left us 7 years without an album. So now was the time for "Old Raggamuffin". The production is 100% Reality Shock and features some scorching combinations with artists like Macka B, Mikey General, Earl Sixteen & Sabrina Bell. Expect heavyweight authentic roots reggae music, blessed with melody, heavy basslines, beautiful horn sections & Amelia Harmony's angelic background vocals complimenting Solo's hard hitting Deejay style, filled with intelligent & thought provoking lyrics.
