Retrospective For Love is a satisfying new sound for a fresh generation of soul lovers. Hailing from the sun-drenched Mediterranean island of Sicily, vocalist, MC and producer Davide Shorty had a vision to bring back the love and has gathered a tight knit family of similarly soul-centric musicians from his homeland, plus UK-based additions including Parisian co-vocalist Leslie Phillips. With Retrospective For Love, a special force in music was born.Debut long player 'Random Activities of a Heart', released 10th March 2017 on Wormfood Records, weaves together undeniable, infectious melodies stretching across the stratosphere of Hip-Hop, Soul, and Jazz, whilst adding a little 21st century electronic mastery into the mix.

Acclaimed South African folk singer Vusi Mahlasela joined forces with singer songwriter Norman Zulu as well as the superb Swedish jazz and soul collective Jive Connection for this album back in 2002. It was thought to be a lost recording until it recently showed up and now gets fully revived by Strut. There are strong political links between these countries which no doubt adds weight to this musical link up. It is a great exchange of cultures from parables to laments on child abuse to tunes that fuse reggae, jazz and post-punk with township styles.
