Leoni Leoni - dispo au Discopathe Montpellier

Subtle, sincere, but also strange, Leoni Leoni's music has a powerful attraction and a unique bewitching force. The synthesizers sizzle, the drum machine moves forward sometimes throbbing. Upon it, the Bernese musician and producer sings about life, about love, in their banality and magnificence. With 4 homemade cassettes released since 2019, Leoni Leoni has established herself as a major figure of the Swiss underground. With dozens of concerts across Switzerland and France, she distills to perfection her music in the weirdest places, the craziest parties. A bit of magic, the scent of drugs, the caress of a summer white night... let yourself be carried away.

Bongo Joe Records is proud to release Leoni Leoni's work on vinyl for the first time, compiling the major tracks from her 4 cassette tapes released between 2019 and 2021.

Switching RhetoricsFirst-ever vinyl edition of Shora & Merzbow’s split release Switching Rhetorics, originally published on CD in 2001, with remastered audio and updated artwork.Following the release of their acclaimed first record Shaping The Random in June 2000, Shora spent the next year touring and gigging around Europe, eventually reconvening in the studio in the summer of 2001 to record four tracks for a collaborative project with Japanese noise-meister Merzbow, a pairing initiated by Bisect Bleep Industries. The band’s sound had by that point coalesced into a tighter and arguably even more hard-hitting affair, however no less puzzling. The blistering first three tracks exude formidable confidence, embracing Dazzling Killmen-styled noise-rock and apocalyptic black metal alike, while maintaining all of Shora’s eloquent singularity. The drumming particularly shines throughout, with its multidirectional eruptions of seemingly pure kinetic energy. As its title suggests, the record’s grandiose and repetitive closing piece “To Further Confines” is a clear indication of the Swiss band’s desire to keep challenging itself and looking ahead. Completed with Merzbow’s extended psychedelic digital noise études, Switching Rhetorics is an era-defining record of genuinely great artistry.

Radiant melodies interwoven with slippery polyrhythms are the order for the day on the first Kimochi Sound release for 2021. Shielding shows a mastery beyond genre borders, incorporating shades of highlife, bass, drone, djembe, and triphop. It's a challenging & rewarding 32 minute journey. Essential.
Lamentations is the debut EP by foundational cold light member Birthmark.Part late night confessional part post rave revelations part call to arms, Birthmark dissects the nuance of of modern life & the grey area in his inimitable style, never afraid to delve into topics that many brush under the carpet.Sonically taking as many cues from from 90's British Techno, Dub, J-Pop & David Lynch soundtracks as the grimey raps he grew up on, he conjures a pallate that fully embraces the duality of living in a place where you never quite seem to fit in.Honestly i cannot say enough good things about this record, the initial demo's were what pushed me to start Cold Light, it feels like it has always been a part of my life.“… Its not up to others to decide what kind of human being you are, you have to find the confidence to show people - this is who I am”
