Jah Wobble Access All Areas dispo au Discopathe à Montpellier !

John Wardle, alias Jah Wobble, came to fame in the late Seventies at the age of 20 as bass player for John Lydon’s first post-Sex Pistols outfit, Public Image Limited, following this with a series of collaborations with members of German avant gardists Can and U2 guitarist the Edge. He plays on today.

He quit the biz and spent time in the Eighties driving trains on the London Underground. Happily, creativity won out and this show from 1992 is from one of a series of charity shows co-ordinated by New Musical Express at London’s Town & Country Club under the banner Viva Eight. Highlights include ‘Visions Of You’ from 1991’s classic ‘Rising Above Bedlam’ album, ‘How Much Are They?’ and the iconic ‘Invaders Of The Heart’ from which his group take their name. The performance includes percussion and exotic dancing, and is an audio-visual treat.

A musician whose influences span hard rock, psych, garage rock, and energetic pop, Andrew Gabbard has long been a force on the Southwestern Ohio music scene. Working with Thee Shams, The Buffalo Killers, and currently as The Gabbard Brothers with his brother Zach, Andrew is truly a prolific artist covering a wide range. The Buffalo Killers caught the attention of Dan Auerbach who produced their debut LP and Andrew is currently part of the touring band for The Black Keys. Now joining forces with another Ohio establishment, Colemine Records, Andrew hopes to hone his sound and grow his reach. His first LP as Andrew Gabbard is "Homemade", a mix of hazy pop infused with alt-country vibes that feels part Neil Young, part Wilco, and part Flaming Lips all at the same time.
Whereas the band’s debut album ‘Popular Music’ was broadly political, the new album takes a more personal approach with beguilingly honest and brave lyrics that are bold in both sound and feeling, whilst also retaining the core DNA of their previous material.Going on to speak about the album Mez says “A Picture of Good Health is not a collage of work but rather a snapshot of time; our time and the time of those around us. It’s political, but in a personal way. It’s a body of work that explores and examines the bands inner-selves through a precise period; a period that has brought pain, loneliness, blood, guts, single parenthood, depression and the need for survival and love. It is the sense and need for belonging that is the resounding endnote!”
Top a Top Soukous music Orchestre Kamale was formed in 1975 by singer Nyboma Mwan'dido with members of Orchestre Lipua-Lipua, where he was a singer from 1973 to 1975 and where he had his first hit Kamale 1 & 2.Orchestre Kamale didn't last very long and split up in 1978 when Assosa and Mulembu left to create Fuka Fuka. Nyboma continued for a while with Les Kamale but he (like Dally Kimoko) was soon asked by Dizzy Mandjeku in 1979 to join his African All Stars in Togo, as conditions became more and more difficult for musicians in Zaire. Two years later, in 1981, Nyboma recorded one of his biggest hits « Double Double » with a band that once again was named Les Kamale. ... Nyboma recorded another three albums under the name of Les Kamales in 1983-84.
Switching RhetoricsFirst-ever vinyl edition of Shora & Merzbow’s split release Switching Rhetorics, originally published on CD in 2001, with remastered audio and updated artwork.Following the release of their acclaimed first record Shaping The Random in June 2000, Shora spent the next year touring and gigging around Europe, eventually reconvening in the studio in the summer of 2001 to record four tracks for a collaborative project with Japanese noise-meister Merzbow, a pairing initiated by Bisect Bleep Industries. The band’s sound had by that point coalesced into a tighter and arguably even more hard-hitting affair, however no less puzzling. The blistering first three tracks exude formidable confidence, embracing Dazzling Killmen-styled noise-rock and apocalyptic black metal alike, while maintaining all of Shora’s eloquent singularity. The drumming particularly shines throughout, with its multidirectional eruptions of seemingly pure kinetic energy. As its title suggests, the record’s grandiose and repetitive closing piece “To Further Confines” is a clear indication of the Swiss band’s desire to keep challenging itself and looking ahead. Completed with Merzbow’s extended psychedelic digital noise études, Switching Rhetorics is an era-defining record of genuinely great artistry.
