Hot on the tattered heels of ‘Terminal Tokyo’ - the reissued cult UK DIY single by Garage Class and the inaugural release on Outer Reaches - arrives ‘Flight & Pursuit’, another overlooked revelation of provincial post-punk, this time by Indifferent Dance Centre. A four-piece from Chichester, a quiet Cathedral city in West Sussex, the group consisted of Lizzy Dowling (vocals / lyrics), Christopher Binns (guitar), Ashley Barrett (bass) and Douglas Barrett (drums / guitar & bass when required) with added contributions from known associates including the artist & musician Alexander Johnson (melodica)
Theory of Movement is back with more of their distinctive new deep house sounds. This is of course a collaborative project between Dan Piu and Grant and we haven't heard from them since back in 2018. With this latest outing though they remind us of their quality with all shades of classic-sounding house served up with some signature melodies to mark the first release on Grant's new label When the Morning Comes Records. On the back side is a special collaboration with Parbleu that results in some blessed out late-night soul.
Detlef Weinrich is back with his fifth full-length album under the Tolouse Low Trax moniker. Now based in Paris after leaving Dussledorf, he heads in something of a new direction and brings heavy yet velvet sounds which replace the rawness of his earlier work. Tracks on Leave Me Alone bring razor-sharp rhythms to drifting cosmic melodies, there are slow and industrial drones and haunting pads, a signature sense of drum funk and much more besides. This is a great new sound for an artist always on the move.

JJ - John Jones (AV Moves, Geo Rip, among others) and JS – Jesse Sappell (of Motion Ward) debut on Daisart. What is this? This delight of flicker and bent landing so delicately upon the ear? It’s «peeled«, JJ+JS’ first outing on Daisart. It’s their second album, following their 2020 debut release as a duo, »1«, which saw them flex their collaborative energies across an album of deep, textured meanderings in rhythm and sound on the perennial Lillerne Tapes. »peeled« sees the two pick up where they left off and veer into a ~ place ~ of sound, of sorts. This place is likely familiar to those following the duo's output and goings-on, as one together and as themselves apart, but with a tweak to the framing of projects past, naturally. Where we find ourselves with “peeled” is reflective of the two’s interest in jamming without a specific destination in mind, a distillation of the two’s interests in a range of sounds and styles. And though there is some arcane resemblance to all manner of ethereal music of the past, on this vaporous dream of a record, the haze shimmers somehow; the shake’s shudder is dissimilar. There’s a pair of key interventions on this collection: one a wistful vocal guesting from Izella on the not-quite-folk mood ‘Lily Pad’, the other on ‘Syntropy’, where Daisart’s J pitches layers of texture and chord in polyrhythmic impression. Both bring something refined to the table on which JJ+JS work air into mirage, color into scene, folding the mundane into the magical. For those of you versed in the catalogs of picnic, Motion Ward, West Mineral, and Experiences Ltd, a wander akin awaits on “peeled” – but this is not a much of a muchness likeness; more so a refreshing, important addition to the expanding catalog these two artists are crafting.' – Nico Callaghan
DYNATRON / DRESVN / YPY / A MADE UP SOUNDThe House Of Web: Reworked Vol 1Acido GermanyThe House Of Web is a new project that brings together music with a range of international origins across two EPs. They feature material originally by Takuya Sogimoto on this label in 2020 and 2022 as well as some unreleased cuts from 1994 and 1995. Dynamo Dreesen & Robotron go first as Dynatron ahead of a debut solo EP on SUED that is due soon. Then comes Dresvn aka Dynamo Dreesen & SVN, YPY aka Koshiro Hino from Osaka and a member of the Japanese band Goat, plus the next level beat maker A Made Up Sound. All four of these cuts offer superbly fresh takes on techno.
