Le Discopathe Montpellier 291outer space

We are proud to present the second album by 291outer space, the electronic side project of the well-known italian jazz-funk band 291out alongside sound engineer Ivan “Flyme” Cibien.

This new work plays tribute to a variety of legends of Kosmische Muzik and Sci-Fi world (among all, Vangelis, Shulze, Jarre, Parson, Moroder, Carpenter) re-imagining the sound in a contemporary key, therefore tradition and innovation are united in the search for a future’s Disco that is utterly to be discovered yet.
Clean drums, insistent bass-lines, spacey synthesizers and a lonely guitar compose a mystic release enriched by an ethereal voice and shimmering flutes. The homeland musical heritage of the group definitely soaks the album with a distinctive groove alongside the oniric beatless moments.

*The track which opens and closes the disc in its two different arrangements, "Transcendence Rain Forest", is a
poetic and philosophical interpretation of the origin of humanity and the ultimate meaning of life, an invitation to flee from our uncertain destiny and apocalyptic post-pandemic present to reconnect with the cosmic flow of the planet. A resounding exhortation to go “beyond” the here and now.

Les Disques de culte are back with a new exploration of the original soundtracks of the golden age of French X-rated films, the cult movie La Femme-objet, which has never been released before (neither on LP or any other format). A tribute to pleasure, composed by Jean-Claude Nachon, who at the dawn of the eighties was using without any restrains all the arsenal of the pioneers of the "electro-porn" to enhance the prodigious performance of Marilyn Jess. Languorous and effective beats, between psychedelic reggae, synth-pop and electro-orgasmics take-offs, gathered in this intimate selection to listen alone or accompanied…Fully restored the audio tracks from original material. Inside, in a gatefold, you'll find a copy of a rare vintage italian X-rated comics (translated in english) starring Marilyn Jess and la Cicciolina, so that you can get busy with your hands while listening to your LP.
The re-appraisal of early Seefeel has been long overdue. We're not entirely sure why this hasn't happened before, but to put things into context this is the first time Ch-Vox has been available on vinyl since it debuted in 1996, sidling up alongside the band's other outings dating back to 1994, all of which came about through involvement with Sheffield and global electronic music institution, Warp Records.Ch-Vox actually landed on Rephlex, the imprint founded by Warp regular Richard D James, AKA Aphex Twin, and Grant Wilson-Claridge. Taking us further into the chill-out rooms, Sunday morning comedowns and midweek meditative moods of UK rave, in many ways Ch-Vox is more complex in concept than its predecessor, Succour, helping establish an early framework for what we now know as drone.
Breaka’s come a long way since he first turned heads in 2018 with shivering bass anthem ‘Rory’s Theme’. After releasing further records on Holding Hands and other labels, he also kicked off his own eponymous label, and held down remix duties for Interplanetary Criminal and Kelly Lee Owens. Now, his musical curiosity gets the spotlight with self-released debut LP ‘We Move.’Made on a laptop and midi keyboard during the winter of 20/21, the album clearly goes out to the club: singles ‘Mass Gathering’ and ‘Solaria’ earned attention from DJs like Anz, Call Super, and Om Unit, while also doing the rounds on NTS, Rinse FM, and the BBC, as well as featuring on BBC essential ‘Mix of the Year’ by Elkka. Tracks such as ‘Look Inside’ and ‘Solaria’ navigate themes of reflection and isolation, while numbers ‘We Move’, ‘Honeydrum’ and ‘Baile Steppa’ work genres like UK funky, trance, kuduro, and samba together into new forms. Whether considering the dance from a distance or toying with new ideas of what the dance can be, ‘We Move’ is a confident statement of intent, showcasing Breaka’s love for explorations across the electronic axis.Artwork comes courtesy of Breaka and Jake Elwes, with featured photography from Sophie Jouvenaar.
