Delton Screechie's 'Cry Fe The Youths' is an impassioned cry from 1987. He was an active vocalist throughout the 80s and worked with greats like King Tubby in his legendary studio. He dropped five albums in all and always with a ghetto edge and socially aware lyrics. 'Cry Fe The Youths' rides a classic rhythm with neat melodies and chattery claps, the pained vocals and rolling bass. On the flip is a version that is stripped of the vocal and becomes more stoned, a head-twisting bit of studio trickery that sounds future to this day.
