Childhood Intelligence 15th release presents “The Return Of Intelligence '' by UK duo “Interlect 3000”. Far ahead of its time, the two artists composed these futuristic timeless pieces, unknowingly, for generations to come. The album pays homage to the early days, fusing aspects of Techno, Trance, House, Electro, Ambient. Truly a hypnotic journey from beginning till end, live recorded & dedicated to the journey itself. Traxx which were written and recorded at Spare Room Studios, Essex and Phantasm Studios, London, between 1992 -1996 have now been rediscovered and released in 2022. Interlect 3000 as the architects of their own world are driven by passion and dedication for electronic music. A testament of skill and imagination only known to masters of their art.
The 4th disc on Young Echo Records is here, and it comes locked & loaded with Jabu re-works from the extended family: SKRS & Jay Glass Dubs at the controls!Pressed to 12″ with two remixed cuts from Jabu’s Sleep Heavy LP on Blackest Ever Black, YE004 follows the murky lyrical showcase from Manonmars alongside O$VMV$M, and reaches out to two producers who have been operating with similar style & fashion to the YE family over the years –forward thinking, eyes-closed, ears-open individualism is the order of the day, and these two remixes showcase this unique application of sound in loose dub structures perfectly.Long time RwdFwd heroes, ever since we first got a package with those self-released SKRS 7″s from them 4/5 years ago, the mysterious, ever-prolific, multi-faceted Vancouver-based soundsystem graces the counter-side to Jay Glass Dubs, who’s recent work for Bokeh Versions, Berceuse Heroique & Ecstatic Recordings has made us eager-eared fans for sure.… Basically, this trinity of Jabu /Jay Glass / SKRS is pretty perfect, if you ask us –Just listen to the clips and try tell us otherwise. Each approach the originals with their own take on skewed & stretched dubwise styles – letting the vocals swerve & sway over hypnotic rhythms, off-kilter atmospherics and big belly bassline… Like the best of dub, there’s an instant infectiousness to the rhythm, and a new-found focus on the original elements of the song – however, it’s too easy to apply the dub-tag to this – SKRS & Jay Glass Dubs are doing their own thing – listen and hear for yourself.12″ mastered and cut by Lewis at Stardelta,Served in printed kraftliner disco bag, designed by Joshua Hughes-Games,Includes 12″ insert designed by Mysteryforms.
Switching RhetoricsFirst-ever vinyl edition of Shora & Merzbow’s split release Switching Rhetorics, originally published on CD in 2001, with remastered audio and updated artwork.Following the release of their acclaimed first record Shaping The Random in June 2000, Shora spent the next year touring and gigging around Europe, eventually reconvening in the studio in the summer of 2001 to record four tracks for a collaborative project with Japanese noise-meister Merzbow, a pairing initiated by Bisect Bleep Industries. The band’s sound had by that point coalesced into a tighter and arguably even more hard-hitting affair, however no less puzzling. The blistering first three tracks exude formidable confidence, embracing Dazzling Killmen-styled noise-rock and apocalyptic black metal alike, while maintaining all of Shora’s eloquent singularity. The drumming particularly shines throughout, with its multidirectional eruptions of seemingly pure kinetic energy. As its title suggests, the record’s grandiose and repetitive closing piece “To Further Confines” is a clear indication of the Swiss band’s desire to keep challenging itself and looking ahead. Completed with Merzbow’s extended psychedelic digital noise études, Switching Rhetorics is an era-defining record of genuinely great artistry.
LUXXURY (born Blake Robin) is the LA Beatmaker who really comes correct on this new EP on Nolita Records. It features four of his freshest tunes to date and if the title is anything to go by it could be the start of a fine new series. Things start all sensuous on 'Let's Stay Together' before the stylish cosmic disco Rhdoes and smooth grooves of 'Don't Give Up (I Believe In You)' and breezy, hip swing charms of 'Pleasure' make a great impression. 'Two Hearts' rides on nice languid bass riffs and last of all comes the upbeat, piano laced and hands in the air jam, 'Hold On (Crackazat remix).'
