In the head of top 10 best Reggae album of everytime, nothing more to say
In 1964 The Wailers consisted of a five piece harmony group comprising Neville ‘Bunny Wailer’ Livingston, Winston ‘Peter Tosh’ Mackintosh, Robert ‘Bob’ Marley, Junior Braithwaite and Beverley Kelso (who had replaced Cherry Green aka Ermine Bramwell).
Originally released in very late 1965 and compiled from various recordings made over the years 1964-1965, it compiles what Clement Coxsone Dodd considered the best Wailers recordings from this period. It is not a studio album in the conventional sense but was the first full length LP released of the band’s work.
This is the 2016 reissue (2022 Repress) of the 1965 first pressing, remastered from the original tapes (without the later overdubs) and featuring a pristine reproduction of the first edition sleeve. This is the first in a series of Yep Roc Records' reissues of rare and hard-to-find Studio One releases
