On Bristol Normcore, following heaters from Katatonic Silentio & a big remix crew, we have the debut release from Bristol's very own Max 'Kelan' Pearce (also known as video maker, one of many heads in the Avon Terror Corps crew, half of gaelic industrial duo Salac along with Clíona Ní Laoi, as part of noise duo Bad Tracking along with Gordon Apps, and organiser of Slack Alice events and radio show).

First records from iconic Venezuelan Daniel Grau in 30 years with Synth Wave influences, electro & Smooth Jazz Daniel Grau Sosa is a venezuelan recording engineer, producer, composer and arranger born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1948. As a multi-instrumentalist musician he showed his talent on guitar, bass, synthesizers, keyboards and programming from the very beginning. His first record Dejando volar el pensamiento (1974) establishes a unique fusion of styles which will be evolving to get his personal sound throughout his entire career. Pop-rock, disco, instrumental folk, jazz and funk are pivotal genres in all of his records from 1974 to 1984: Dejando Volar El Pensamiento (London/Palacio, 1974), La Orquesta De Daniel Grau (London/Palacio, 1976), El Sonido Mágico De Daniel Grau (London/Palacio, 1978), Disco Fantasy (London/Palacio, 1979) Kryptonita Líquida (London/Palacio, 1979), El León Bailarín (London/Palacio, 1980), ¿Por Qué No Podemos Hacerlo? London/Palacio 1981 Canción Del Amanecer London/Palacio 1982 440 Torker Vol. 9 (Palacio 1984), You Are In My Dreams (Lyric, 1994), The Magic Sound of Daniel Grau (Compilation, Sonar Kollektiv 2014). Every record was made in his own studio and self-promoted. From mid ‘00s, Grau’s work has been rediscovered by music lovers around the globe, and his work is finally getting the kind of appreciation he deserved. Though his own musical project has been apparently silent from 1984 (with the exception of a 1994 forgotten jazz album), he never fully stopped working behind the scenes, as a sound engineer, continued working with local artists like Vytas Brenner, Aditus, Hernán Gamboa, Serenata Guayanesa, La Misma Gente, Trino Mora, Trío Raúl Borges, Victor Castillo, Andy Durán, Fucho Aparicio, Rudy Márquez, and many others. In 2014, due to the growing popularity in his classic records, the German label Sonar Kollektiv, released a double LP: The Magic Sound of Daniel Grau (2014) with many of his iconic songs.

Edition of 150 ** Long-awaited return of Steve Marreyt, the grandmaster of psychedelic dronefolk-soundcollages. here he resurfaces with three long and impulsive tracks - mainly based on vocals and samples, but using the same direct and messy approach that made his earlier releases so unique. The entire A-side is taken up by an acapella lamentation for Herman Bisschop, the Dutch artist who passed away in the summer of 2018 and was a personal friend of Marreyt. The B-side thrives on samples, making it a more hectic listen, yet clear and oddly structured’-sounding for a Wappenhalter release. Definitely an adventurous but rewarding listen.

Salutations features twelve pieces of new music from artists near and dear to RVNG’s sphere, including Isik Kural, Satomimagae, vhvl, Visible Cloaks, Sign Libra, Dialect, Batu, Anna Homler, Diatom Deli, Emily A. Sprague, Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith, and Wayne Phoenix. The vinyl edition expands on the spirit of correspondence with poetry readings by Zoe Brezsny, Ivanna Baranova, Tessa Bolsover, Jessica Rae Elsaesser, and Luciá Hinojosa Gaxiola, assembled by Breszny and RVNG.Salutations signals a series of meetings, greetings, group assemblies and exercises along the invisible plane created through correspondence. This is the inaugural compilation of new music from RVNG, inspired in part by a collaboration with Adult Swim. The question of how similar we are arises in the simple form of contact, and how we choose to embrace the potential of that moment and one another. Through correspondence, we connect, communicate, and form community. At first, correspondents with one another, and through the processes of collaboration and transmission, we correspond to parallel and intersecting collective cores.This eternal network, perhaps informed (consciously or subconsciously) by some celestial or spiritual force, becomes a portal to practice social responsibility and an access point to a wider, inclusive universe of information. In turn, the network becomes a human phenomenon, as well as a potent demonstration of art and collectivism. As the world heals, and evolves through future changes, having t his network in place provides a vessel to and grow / glow beyond our corporeal state.On behalf of Salutations, a portion of the proceeds from this release will benefit A.B.O.
