Quite a number of techno fans will go weak at the knees when they spot this expansive collaboration between longtime friends and occasional studio partners Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock. It's their first combined release since 2013. Both slabs of wax are full of high quality, atmospheric, late night techno workouts, from the creepy riffs and off-kilter drums of "Phantom Studies", and the horror-influenced post-dubstep shuffle of "The Room", to the raging, mind-altering dancefloor heaviness of "Bay Boy" and sparse, minimalist techno closer "The Tenant". Given their abilities as producers, we'd expect nothing less than superbly produced, club-ready cuts. Predictably, Phantom Studies delivers that in spades.

Cult London/Tokyo tape label NCA venture Molinaro’s solo debut for the label after a split with Black Void Smith and his future jazz / broken beat 12”s on ApronWe can’t full make out the silhouette of this one, but the demo showreel / montage promises something a little off-centre from his previous turns; a bit more frayed around the edges, with grubbing drums and littered with samples in a mutant sci-fi soundtrack vein. NCA gear always flies out so trust your instincts and think quick.

Detroit's Ali Berger returns to FatCat Records' sub-label FCR with a follow up release entitled 'Keys The Door EP2'.After his 'Keys The Door EP1' that picked up support from the likes of Ben UFO, Artwork, Huerco S and Machine Woman, Michigan's Ali Berger returns to the FatCat Records off-shoot FCR which features releases from Cottam, DJJ and Project 223. Ali's previous releases on Clave House, Firm Tracks and Isaiah Tapes reflect his keen ear for slick, stripped back house productions that's gained the attention worldwide resulting in him being signed to FatCat and regularly featuring in clubs all over the US.'Grease Trap' kicks things off with a wavering acid line, robust melodies and outlandish oscillations before 'Heard' drops low-slung bass grooves, emotive leads and rhythmic tombs reminiscent of early Larry Heard productions. 'Hit Piece' introduces eccentric synth shoots, bubbling percussion and glistening rhythms until 'Keys The Door' rounds things off with a cheerful house cut fusing dreamy piano chords and a stimulating drum sequence.
