Great Keith Rowe production from mid 70s instrumental Jamaican funk reggae with 70s dub version of the rocksteady hit "Tonight"on the flip. Top one repress by great label Horus outta Uk. T
Don't miss! Bullet from the great Sugar Minott originally recorded in the early 80’s w/ help from Bullwackies.
The first release for Brixton Heights Records, a 500 copies limited edition on a heavy weight 7”, is a Jamaica-UK production that combines the best of both realities to obtain a fresh 2018 song with a clear vintage feeling. The result of this combination is Black on Black, a “Militant Lovers” track from the London based powerhouse Christopher Ellis, who is also the author of these conscious and thoughts-provoking lyrics. The riddim is an original Jamaican track composed by Lynford “Fatta” Marshall, played by talented Jamaican musicians and recorded at Tuff Gong studios. The tracks were mixed by Darren Jamtone at his London studio, Jamtone has also gifted the record with his stunning Dub Version. The final mixes were sent once again to Jamaica, where they were mastered at Anchor Studios by the one and only Augustus “Gussie” Clarke for that final maestro touch
Nice modern Roots production by Fruits Records (Switzerland) alongside The Silvertones (Jam). Listen to the flip featuring Westfinga on the mix. Here comes the « Wonderland of Green Riddim » from Fruits Records’ studio band The 18th Parallel. This one is a super heavy rub a dub riddim played in the Roots Radics early 80’s traditional style. Double 7” single, the first record features the legendary Jamaican vocal trio from Studio One and Black Ark days, The Silvertones, singing the roots anthem « Wonderland of Green » and an extra killer dub mix by French wizard Westfinga on the B side. The second record features the big bad DJ Burro Banton with « Living In a Wonderland » and the instrumental version on the flip side. A must have double 7” single for all selecters!Music played by The 18th ParallelDrums: Antonin ChatelainBass: Stuf AddisPiano, moog, percussion: Mathias LiengmeRhythm guitar: Léo MarinTrumpet: Alexandre SchneiterTrombone: Anthony Dietrich BuclinRecorded at Bridge Studio, Geneva, by Mathias Liengme, and at Small World Studio, Kingston, by Perry Hendricks and Gaylard Bravo.Mixed at WF Studio, by Westfinga.Mastered at Precise Mastering, Hawick, by Sam John.Produced, composed and arranged by Antonin Chatelain, Léo Marin and Mathias Liengme.
