Migration Climate by Gerald Bailey released on Potion Music records is a Lp focus on Jazzy Stuff fully Hip Hop beatz inspired

Migration Climate... is a call to action, This record is an attempt to slow a flood of hardship, positively protesting accepted norms that aim to divide. There are great challenges ahead and this is no time to step aside.

As a multi-instrumentalist, Gerald set out to make a record in isolation, reorganizing established sounds and beats into bedroom jazz. Conceptually following the themes of migration, social evolution, upheaval, and positive change, he sculpted layers of overdubbed trumpet, flugabone, drums, and keyboards, utilizing a simple recording setup.

"The final product is one of layered depths, weaving recycled thoughts and emotions, wrapping the listener in enjoyment and beauty like their favorite recycled t-shirt. Finding new inside the old, comfort over dismay, and color in black and white, proving everything is anew when we choose to look at it differently."

Cinephonic was founded in 2018 by composer / pianist / vibraphonist Pierre Chrétien, as an outlet for the new cinematic tunes he had been quietly writing when he wasn't busy leading larger groups such as The Souljazz Orchestra, Atlantis Jazz Ensemble and Slim Moore & the Mar-Kays.In the fall of 2020, he releases "Les Paradis artificiels", his first full-length album under the Cinephonic moniker, on which he collaborates with heavyweight hip-hop drummer Robert Biesewig (Wu-Tang Clan, Havoc, Alchemist) and versatile percussionist Marielle Rivard (The Souljazz Orchestra, Slim Moore & the Mar-Kays), while performing all other parts himself on mellotron, piano and vibraphone.Drawing inspiration from classic French film and library music, Chrétien expands on the sound with elements of orchestral jazz, cinematic soul, and instrumental hip-hop, creating a rich, evocative, and complex soundscape that juxtaposes intricate compositions with dark funk backbeats - a kind of epic soundtrack for a film that never existed.
Gem ! This expanded version of the album features eight extra tracks recorded during associated sessions. It is released in its original Prism Music Unit artwork for the first time and is packaged with the original house bag designs, an original mini-booklet decribing the tracks and an over-sized booklet featuring rare photos and new liner notes by Francis Gooding of The Wire.
Moroccan Jajouka master Bachir Attar meets American experimental musician Elliot Sharp for a live jam of drum machines and traditional Moroccan instruments in 1990.Bachir Attar's Career spans five decades and represents the transcendental sounds of Jajouka, a small Moroccan village situated between Fes and Tangier, known for its unique mystical sound. Fans include William Burroughs and The Rolling Stones with which Bachir recorded with in 1989. A year later Attar collaborated with the prolific avant-garde jazz musician Elliot Sharp on this very Album. Both Sharp and Attar have dedicated their careers to exploring the meeting points between east and west and this album is a unique example of two brilliant minds creating a new, ultra trippy sonic experience. This release is the first collaboration between Fortuna Records and our friends Dikraphone Records out of Morocco, serious unearthers of lost Moroccan music. Look out for more Dikraphone-Fortuna collaborations in the future!
