Quatre ans après sa première sortie sur Stand High Records avec “Another Night” et suite au succès de ses deux mixtapes enregistrées pour Stand High Patrol, Stepart revient étoffer le catalogue du label avec “Playground” son premier album. Onze tracks principalement instrumentales, à l’exception d’un featuring avec Pupajim, où les basses abyssales côtoient les nappes de synthé analogiques.Porté par des rythmiques d’une finesse redoutable et un sens de la mélodie manifeste, « Playground » révèle ses subtilités au fil des écoutes. Le souci accordé aux détails est saisissant, et l’album ne peut s’envisager autrement que dans sa globalité. Stepart y joue avec les styles. Il y présente son univers et, au grès des courants musicaux, il nous invite à arpenter ses terrains de jeux favoris.Avec son lot de Sub Bass et ses mixs soignés, “Playground” nous renvoie à la grande époque des débuts du dubstep ; celle des LP fondateurs influencés par le reggae. Enregistré à Paris entre 2014 et 2016, l’album constitue une véritable porte ouverte sur le Lost World Studio. Libre à qui le souhaite de venir s’y installer!

Brian Bennett is one of instrumental music's true cult figures. Drummer for Cliff Richard & The Shadows, Bennett also is the composer of some of the most collectible production music albums ever made, and for over 40 years has been a sought-after composer for TV and film. But of all his projects, his 1978 release "Voyage (A Journey into Discoid Funk)" is probably his most beloved, a truly pioneering "space disco" recording inspired by Brian Eno but wielding a groove all its own. Despite its absolutely eye-popping Discogs stats, our release marks its first vinyl reissue outside of Australia, and its first-ever release on colored vinyl (blue with black swirl), complete with original gatefold jacket art. 2800 copies.

First time vinyl reissue of Jose Roberto Bertrami's 1965 ‘Os Tatuís’ via Far Out Recordings. Best known as the keyboardist and bandleader of legendary trio Azymuth, the late José Roberto Bertrami also wrote for, arranged for and performed with Elis Regina, George Duke, Sarah Vaughn, Jorge Ben, Eddie Palmieri, Milton Nascimento, Flora Purim and Erasmo Carlos, among countless others.

London-based keyboardist/producer Dan Nicholls (of Y-OTIS) introduces a new album project ‘Mattering And Meaning’ to be released by We Jazz Records on August 13th. Nicholls' music uses acoustic piano as its key element, transporting the instrument into new territories that sound remarkably natural and organic, whilst displaying a strong kinship with the world of abstract electronic music. The music utilises piano loops and field recordings as its key elements, forming what might be described on the surface as a fascinating ambient jazz record – but at the same time there's so much more at play here on deeper levels. Dan's music sounds at once otherworldly and immensely inviting.After years of unlearning and unravelling the knots of a music college education – moving from a career in jazz, via electronic music, to a heartfelt embrace with rave culture and the feminist and queer theories which have so challenged perspectives across many disciplines on the objectified world and the values of capitalism – Dan Nicholls has spontaneously reimagined his relationship to the piano, that edifice of the decaying foundations of european classical music.

Contact mic, cassette loops + cassette amplifier.Originally released as two private edition cassettes and then reworked for a CD release on iDEAL in 2008, Kassettmusik still stands out as one of Dan Johanssons’ most confounding and bold moments. Upon its release, the extremely minimal and restrained approach on the recording took a quite unexpected turn compared to the brutish harsh noise and ‘Killing For’ endeavours Sewer Election was known for at the time. Crude cassette loops of sparse electronics and body sounds with the fidelity of the disintegrated magnetic tape becoming an important piece of the two side-long compositions.Pressed in 500 copies.
