Chill Bump Le Discopathe Montpellier

BEAK> were formed in January 2009 by three Bristol musicians, Billy Fuller, Matt Williams and Geoff Barrow. The band have very strict guidelines governing the recording and writing process of their work. The music was recorded live in one room with no overdubs or repair, only using edits to create arrangements. All tracks were written over a twelve-day session in SOA Studio’s, Bristol. The album is released on Invada Records in the UK and Europe & on Ipecac in the United States.Sometimes a band can be no more than the sum of it’s parts, but BEAK> are an equation in which it’s impossible to define equivalents or totals. Instead the meeting of three talent’s form a foundation from which idea’s assimilate and propagate. Those talents are:Billy Fuller. Reared in Bristol, on an aural diet of anything and everything, facilitated later by his time working in the cities top independent record shop Replay Records, and also playing with handfuls of bands – including Invada’s first signing: Fuzz Against Junk, as well as Massive Attack, Robert Plant, and Malakai. Billy is BEAK>’S thoughtful pulse; his bass a forceful origin for their superlative narrative arcs.Matt Williams. Picked up a Yamaha keyboard aged three and never looked back, as Team Brick creates dissonance that immediately elucidates free forming thought, and impacts heavily on BEAK>’S rolling landscape. He enjoys playing air drums whilst cycling, singing lines from a favourite Latin prayer and doesn’t understand the music he makes himself.Geoff Barrow. Musician and producer born near Bristol. Best known for forming and producing popular music group Portishead and part owner of the independent record label Invada Records . Commenting on working in BEAK> "its really good to create music under different conditions than your used too.”"
Damon Albarn, Dan The Automator Nakamura, Richard Russell, Jneiro Jarel & others went to Kinshasa to produce this wonderful album with musicians from Congo in just 5 days. Genius stuff!
Detroit's Ali Berger joins up with FatCat Records' sub-label FCR to release four acid-tinged cuts entitled 'Keys The Door EP1'.Michigan's Ali Berger has been making music for nearly ten years now and was first introduced to house and techno in 2012 through a party at New York's Dope Jams. Later that year he went on to release his debut EP on Militant Science and has since gone on release music via Clave House, Isaiah Tapes and Firm Tracks. Ali represents a new wave of producers coming through the US scene earning him regular slots at venues across the country. His 'Keys The Door EP1' sees him join Brighton's FatCat sub-label FCR which launched with two releases from Cottam, in addition to records from DJJ and Project 223.Ali uses mostly hardware from the 90s and early 2000s to make his music and the stripped back nature of production is a constant feature throughout the EP. 'Badlands' opens things up with a chugged out groove immersed with weaving 303s and eccentric modulations before rhythmic synth stabs, angelic leads and delicate chords take the focus in 'Love In This Box'.'Secrets' maintains the attractive atmosphere through a lusciously deep bassline, a haunting acid line and inviting oscillations until 'Sleeves' finishes things off with a raw drum sequence, illustrious melodies and alleviating pads in the second half.
A1 127 - A2 127 - B1 127 - B2 117 //// Long before the current trend of EBM/industrial fuelled techno, Terrence Fixer was there, honing his now trademark style on his highly regarded Planete Rouge imprint as well as collaborating with Nitzer Ebb frontman Douglas McCarthy for several energised live shows over the years. For Berlin institution Ostgut Ton, he appears again with "Beneath The Skin", a powerful and brooding exercise in main room techno with equal parts tension and suspense. "Trace To Nowhere" features dramatic, reverb soaked vocals backed by trippy and hypnotic madness that even Mike Parker would stand up and notice. Finally "Immersion" provides a different and refreshing perspective from the Frenchman, going for an ethereal and emotive deep techno style that's perfect for drifting.
